The Texas House
(As a British citizen) Our family returned to the UK in 1972 and I spent most of my childhood in the North of Scotland.
At age 11, I was sent to Dollar Academy - a co-ed boarding school founded in 1818,
and studied art under the reknowned Scottish Illustrator, Jennifer Campbell.
Upon graduation I studied Fine Art at Gray's School of Art in Aberdeen, Scotland.
It was during a 1990 Summer vacation in Virginia USA that I met Richard Schick - a diver in the US Navy. We were married in 1992 and I transferred to
Old Dominion University in Norfolk Virginia - studying Art History with European Languages.
Our son Adam was born in 1995 - closely followed by our daughter Rachel who was born in 1996.
Rich was transferred to Pensacola Florida in 1999 and we bought a small 10 acre ranch : Tuscany Farm.
It was here that we owned and bred straight Egyptian Arabians until 2008 when Rich retired from the Navy.
In 2008 we moved to SE Texas and bought an old house in the woods with 5 acres.
I only bought two horses with me from Florida....Desert Cleopatra and TF Ali Sham.
It is our hope (and plan) to return to Scotland or Northern France in the future.
In the meantime, I am continuing to work and paint for Tuscany Studios
and looking forward to returning to school to finish my Fine Arts Degree.
